In 2026, Belgium will be highlighted within the framework of the European Craft Days. This special focus offers a valuable opportunity to showcase the richness and diversity of Belgian crafts and artistic craftsmanship to a wider European audience.

On this occasion, Mad’in Europe, a Brussels-based organisation dedicated to promoting European crafts and know-how, collaborates with the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français, the European coordinator of the JEMA initiative. Mad’in Europe will contribute to promoting and highlighting Belgian artisans participating in the JEMA, helping to increase their visibility through its communication channels and professional networks.

BeCraft is also coordinating the highlight. Professional association promoting applied arts in the Wallonia and Brussels regions, BeCraft is a long-date partner of the Craft Days. Ceramics, glass, jewellery, paper, textiles and object design are among the creative fields in which the artists supported and promoted by the association work.

The European Crafts Alliance is also partnering to help with this Belgian focus, and the French Embassy in Brussels supports the initiative.

Artex – the Centre for Artistic and Traditional Crafts of Tuscany – has been actively involved in the European Crafts Days since 2012, when the event expanded to a European scale. From the outset, Artex chose to participate by working exclusively with the Master Artisans recognized by the Tuscany Region, giving visibility to their skills and strengthening the connection between craftsmanship and the public.

Building on this long-standing engagement, in 2023 Artex assumed a new and significant responsibility: the national coordination of ECD initiatives in Italy. This role reflects the organisation’s consolidated expertise in promoting artistic craftsmanship and its capacity to collaborate with institutions, regional stakeholders, and professional networks across the country and Europe.

As the Italian coordinator, Artex ensures a unified strategic direction among the many entities that organise ECD-related activities throughout Italy. It acts as a national reference point, offering organisational support and facilitating the involvement of artisans, cultural institutions, schools, museums, local authorities, and associations. Artex also leads coordinated communication efforts, developing targeted promotion to highlight the diversity of Italian territories and the excellence of their artisans. Thanks to Artex’s guiding role, ECD in Italy benefits from a cohesive, recognisable identity that aligns with the initiative’s European mission: opening the doors of workshops, inviting the public to discover the richness of artistic craftsmanship, and showcasing the cultural, human, and innovative value of craft professions.

Artex – il Centro per l’Artigianato Artistico e Tradizionale della Toscana – è impegnato nella promozione delle Giornate Europee dei Mestieri d’Arte dal 2012, anno in cui la manifestazione ha assunto una dimensione europea. In qualità di coordinatore italiano, Artex garantisce una linea strategica condivisa tra i diversi soggetti che, nelle varie regioni, organizzano attività legate alle GEMA. L’organizzazione funge da punto di riferimento nazionale, offrendo supporto organizzativo e facilitando la partecipazione di artigiani, istituzioni culturali, scuole, musei, amministrazioni locali e associazioni. Artex cura anche la comunicazione nazionale, sviluppando azioni promozionali mirate che valorizzano la diversità dei territori italiani e l’eccellenza dei loro artigiani.

Grazie al ruolo guida di Artex, le GEMA in Italia beneficiano di un’identità coerente e riconoscibile, in linea con la missione europea dell’iniziativa: aprire le porte dei laboratori, invitare il pubblico a scoprire la ricchezza dei mestieri d’arte e mettere in luce il valore culturale, umano e innovativo di queste professioni.

Georgia has joined the European Artistic Crafts Days since 2022, under the coordination of the Georgian Arts and Culture Center and the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association.

Georgian Arts and Culture Center (Georgia): Overseeing a vibrant array of events as the national coordinator, with the support of the European Crafts Alliance.  Their expansive programme includes more than 14 masterclasses in ceramic, woodcarving, metalwork, textiles, and related disciplines, offered by master craftsmen, craft workshops, and educational institutions from urban and rural areas across Georgia.

The Arts Council Azerbaijan is a non-governmental organization, an international and independent art platform established in 2006. The main purpose of the organisation is to promote culture and art, as well as to create an environment and infrastructure for the development of creative industries. As a member of the International Council of Arts Network that is active in various countries around the world, they are committed to advancing creativity and arts in different forms. In keeping with the organisation mission, we promote Azerbaijani art and culture through numerous social and public projects and strengthen the the sector in Azerbaijan, namely visual art, craft sector, theater, music and others. Arts Council works locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, shaping cultural and education policies and practice – and acting as one of the regional champions to increase opportunities for people to participate, work in and enjoy the art and culture. To make this possible, Arts Council is working closely with government agencies, diplomatic missions and the media to carry out various projects and initiatives. It offers full coverage of the most exciting local art events by spreading information about art projects via different channels (including media, social media and publications). It also provides opportunities for networking and sharing experiences through a programme of exhibitions, workshops, lectures, talks, discussions and film screenings. It offers development opportunities to young and emerging artists, musicians, artisans and others by sharing information about their work and helping them to grow professionally. Having the big network of the Arts Council representative’s offices, it often organizes international exhibitions and festivals. Arts Council Azerbaijan is proud of being one of the leading organizations in the country.

Le Conseil des arts d’Azerbaïdjan est une organisation non gouvernementale, une plateforme artistique internationale et indépendante créée en 2006. Son objectif principal est de promouvoir la culture et l’art, ainsi que de créer un environnement et une infrastructure pour le développement des industries créatives. En tant que membre du réseau du Conseil international des arts, actif dans plusieurs pays du monde, l’organisation s’engage à promouvoir la créativité et les arts sous différentes formes. Conformément à la mission de l’organisation, l’art et la culture azerbaïdjanais sont promus par le biais de nombreux projets sociaux et publics et qui renforcent le secteur en Azerbaïdjan, à savoir l’art visuel, l’artisanat, le théâtre, la musique et d’autres. Le Conseil des arts travaille au niveau local, régional, national et international, en façonnant les politiques et les pratiques culturelles et éducatives.

Le Conseil des arts travaille en étroite collaboration avec les agences gouvernementales, les missions diplomatiques et les médias pour mener à bien divers projets et initiatives. Il offre des opportunités de développement aux artistes, musiciens, artisans et autres jeunes et émergents en partageant des informations sur leur travail et en les aidant à se développer professionnellement. Grâce au vaste réseau de bureaux de représentation du Conseil des arts, il organise souvent des expositions et des festivals internationaux. Le Conseil des arts d’Azerbaïdjan est l’une des principales organisations du pays.
